नकुलस्य सुघोषः - प्रहेलिकामालिका - भागः ५


1.    कोऽहम्
    देवेन सह विद्येऽहं कुलं च मे न विद्यते ।
    ज्येष्ठश्चापि चतुर्थोपि सर्पवैरी च वेत्सि माम् ।।
2.    कोऽहम्
    अहं चापि मम भ्राता समर्थौ नयने भृशम् ।
    सपर्णोऽहमपादस्सः तथाप्यावां तु विश्रुतौ ।।
3.    कोऽहम्
     ग्रहोऽहं नास्मि चाकाशे बलवान्न गजश्च वै ।
     भीतिर्न मे परेभ्यश्च संगृह्णामि तु तत्पदम् ।।
4.    कोऽहम्
     दमयन्त्यास्तु सम्बन्धी घटादिकोस्मि चाप्यहम् ।
      मत्कलहः प्रसिद्धो वै ज्ञातिपरिणये पुरा ।।
5.    कोऽहम्
      मुद्रितो न समुद्रोऽपि बद्धोस्मि न तु तस्करः ।
      पदांकितो न मार्गश्च सपदि वद नाम मे ।।
6.    कोऽहम्
      वृद्धेरहं तु पर्यायः सर्वान् संतोषयाम्यहम् ।
       उकारस्स्यात्तु मन्मध्ये द्वारं स्यां नरकस्य वै ।।
7.   सोदरो मेऽहिवैरी च नाकी नाम्ना भवाम्यहम् ।
        मणिना सह शंखो मे विमानेनाऽस्ति केनचित् ।।
8.    कोऽहम्
       यदि पुमानहं तर्हि रोगी सह मया हि यः ।
       स्त्री चेत्स सायुधो नूनं द्विवर्णं मां गदेत्तु कः?।।
9.    कोऽहम्
       फले भवामि मन्त्रे च शास्त्रे च गणिते तथा ।
       समाधावपि विद्येऽहं किं चित्तेऽस्मि तथा हि ते ।।
10.                    कोऽहम्
       आरोहणं पदैश्चापि मुखेन चाऽवरोहणम् ।
        सृजामि स्वपथं कामं लीलया चापि लालया ।।

Explanations / Hints
1. I am present with deva (Sahadeva). There is no kula for me (i.e na kula). I am the eldest (it should be elder though between Sahadeva and I) but fourth also (Among pandavas). I am the enemy of snakes.

2. My brother and I are exceedingly adept in leading or carrying. I am with parna(wings) and he is without feet (or thighs). Even then we are famous!
3. I am a graha but on earth (not in space). I am strong but not an elephant. I don't fear others yet I catch hold of their feet (as if in fear)
4. I have a connection with Damayanti, daughter of BhIma (My father is also Bhima, hence the connection). My name begins with 'ghata' and the confusion that I created in my cousin's marriage (Abhimanyus) is quite famous!
5. I am with a mudra (seal) (or I am printed) but not a samudra. I am bound (or composed) but not a thief. I am marked with pada (words or steps) but not a road. Tell my name instantly!
6. I am a synonym of the word vrddhi. I make everyone happy. If there is the letter 'उ' in my middle (middle of the word that I am) I become another word which is a gate to hell (hint - according to the Bhagavad Gita).

7. My brother is an enemy of snakes. I am a deva by name. My conch is a combination of mani and a vimaana.

8. If I am masculine, (In masculine gender) whoever has me is a rogi (diseased). If I am feminine (in feminine gender) whoever has me is armed. Who can tell me, a two lettered (word)?
9. I am in a fruit, mantra and mathematics. I am present in Samadhi(Yoga). Am I in your thought?

10. I climb up with the legs also and I climb down with my mouth. I create my own path at will, at ease and with saliva.
