Random musings - part 1
This
is on Bharatamata! The second pada has to be split as भारते नास्ति
and the fourth pAda has to be split as भारतेन अस्ति.
Let
it not be said by Bharateeyas that there is no life (career) in Bharata. Let it
be said that life is only because of Bharata!
--------------------------
Alas!
The words of Sanskrit are like gems indeed. Whoever makes use of them for
composition (poetry) like flowers in a garland, the work or the garland shines
for sure!
--------------------------
How
do I make my unrefined (asamskrta) thoughts and words refined (samskrta)?
3 ।।
The
proper way is to have one's mind and speech refined before one sings in praise
of the Lord. But that may take aeons for me. What do I do?
Hari! Your stutis
are done by me in Samskrta so that my asamskrta mind and words become Samskrta!
--------------------------
This
one is addressed to the eye! (Ofcourse in singular) - the first mouth of the
face.
The
emotions emerge out through you first (then through words and deeds) and the
gunas (sattva, rajas and tamas) no longer remain secrets because of you (you
reveal them). Indeed, you are the first mouth of the face.
Mukha means both
mouth and face.
--------------------------
Am
I ignorant or do I have jnana? Ok assuming I have a little jnana, what use it
is to me?
5 ।।
Let
there be a little knowledge in me like a star. Alas! It does not repel the
affliction due to ignorance (darkness) and it disappears in the presence of a
learned scholar (Sun).
--------------------------
Here is an
attempt! It has to be refined later
Here
full knowledge has to be attained of anything! Half is dangerous indeed! What
happened to Abhimanyu (Subhadra's dear) may happen!
--------------------------
I
have always wondered what or who holds us from falling down during deep sleep
most of the times (when there is no one sitting next to us; like one morning I
was preventing my co-passenger) I say most of the times because sometimes we
fall from the cot!
Let's
presume God holds us! His name could be Acyuta! One who does not let down his
devotees!
Acyuta!
Indeed, you are holding me, who is falling in deep sleep. Not only that you are
the one holding me even when I am falling in the waking state also due to
ignorance!
अच्युत is indeed the
dharma rakṣaka !!!
This
one is on the gravitational pull of earth! Ever wondered how that force holds
us yet allows us to move! What a beauty! So I am comparing this aspect to the
will of Paramatma, who controls us yet has allowed us to be ourselves. Hence
the concept of karma!
8 ।।
Earth!
I am dependent on you (for existence) but you allow some freedom due to which I
can go on with my karma (activities). In this you are like the Paramatma, who
allows a little freewill for the Jivas to go about their karma!
--------------------------
Is the knowledge
of language enough to understand shastras? No. Mere strong teeth are indeed not
enough to cut open a jack fruit!
Guru's guidance
and a good knife are (also?) required respectively!
--------------------------
This
one is again on Earth! I assume that our body is predominantly made of earth. Earth
is called as sarvamsahaa - one who bears everything - highly patient. I am
wondering if earth is predominant should not its quality called forbearance
also dominate? Nope! It's not even there?
10 ।।
