Poetry on mind - part 3

Sometimes the more we feel for the lack of something say like an own house or a car etc, we forget that by not possessing there is only one duhkha of not having, but by having it there is scope for many forms of duhkha! (in the form of maintenance :-)) It is better to be contended with that one duhkha!

मनः mind सहस्व bear नास्तीति it is not there दुःखमेकं the grief that तु but तद्वरम् it is better अस्ति चेत् if it is there अस्ति is अनेकं many तत् duhkha सोढुमेव to bear not शक्नोषि you can

Mind, bear with one duhkha - 'Alas! I don't have that (anything)'. It is better. If it (the desired thing) is there you won't be able to bear the many forms of duhkha, associated with its presence....

I compare my mind to a strange moon which shines full in Krishna paksha and does not shine at all in shukla paksha. Moon grows during suklapaksha culminating in pournami and it decreases during krishnapaksha ending up in amavasya!

My mind is akin to a strange moon, which is full with digits in Krishna paksha (lot of skill or expertise in the wrong or dark side of life) and without a single digit in shukla paksha (no skill or expertise in the bright or right side of life) कला digit / skill or expertise रजनीपति moon

I have always felt happy that fortunately the mind is hidden inside and also its functioning cannot be perceived by others! I am able to pretend as righteous!

वासस्स्थानं residence and वृत्तं functioning  ते your  दिष्ट्या luckily  अन्तः inside तु but तिरोहिते hidden मनो mind! मे my निर्भयेन without fear of being noticed  इह here हन्त alas सद्भावनाटकम् pretending to be good

Oh mind! Luckily you and your functioning are hidden inside. I am able to pretend to be good without the fear of being found out easily!

--------------------------

My mind! You conduct yourself strangely. Without touching or landing upon the present, you always keep on hopping from the past to the future!

-------------------------------

Man, though supposed to live on earth, is always flying in two skies ('kha' in Sanskrit) called Su-kha and duh-kha even without wings (paksha) due to an unstable mind.

Paksha also means an option or idea! The word भूः means earth and it is added to manas mean mind-region!

--------------------------

A solution has to arise in the same place where the problem is! What is the use of a solution if it is born elsewhere? We are overpowered by emotions and wrong thoughts which are born in the heart and mind respectively. Jnana arises in the buddhi. What can jnana, by being born in the buddhi (outside the problem area), do to control them? (This poem needs to be enjoyed simply and no analysis should be done!😊

---------------------------------

Almost everyone is confronted with the problem of deep sleep at dawn! Why?

Deep sleep is the name of that sleep which, leaving the whole night, seals the eyes and mind firmly at dawn! That is how it is.....

---------------------------------

A creeper resorts to a tree and depends upon it to exist! But the tree called sarira is dependent on the (unstable) creeper called mind! It is supported by the mind!

---------------------------------
What is meditation? Fixing our mind on something. But the mind is like a piece of cotton that is carried by the wind called karma here and there always! But if the cotton is made a thread and tied to a fixed object then it is no longer carried away by that wind! Let that fixed object be the auspicious qualities of the Lord! And only He has to make the cotton, the mind, a thread and tie it upon himself also. I am quite incapable!

Hari! My Lord! Please make my mind, a cotton, being carried here and there by the wind called karma, a thread and tie it to a pillar that is one of your qualities! I cannot, only if you do!

---------------------------------

Desert is famous for its dust storms. Nothing can be seen and one may fall down, blinded by the dust! Only when it rains there is clear vision! रजः means dust as well as passion! My mind is akin to a very dry land (desert) torched by karma. It is enveloped by रजः because of that. By poor visibility or judgement, I keep falling. Lord! When will your grace rain?
