Poetry on general aspects of life part 5
१ ।।
There
are three means (pramanas) of knowledge accepted by all schools of philosophy:
perception (pratyaksha), inference (anumana) and verbal testimony (sabda). Beauty
is perceived, strength and wealth are inferred with a mark but knowledge is not
known by sabda (even), alas not by all the above three.
Or
other interpretation is - knowledge is known by silence (asabda) only and not
by the three pramanas. It is difficult to identify a jnani!

।।
On
the road or in practical conduct with people in life be careful about every
step (and word), for every slip can ruin wealth or object (and purpose of
relationship).
-----------------------------
।। ३ ।।
Happiness
is something whose value is mostly appreciated or felt only where it is not
present and never elsewhere (where it is present)! We never count our
blessings!

Psychology
of love written with an infant in mind (though true for other relations). Sense
of touch, in comparison to mere seeing etc, increases affection (length of the
rope called love) more. An embrace does it even more and kissing is the most
efficacious of all....
-----------------------------
।।
People
pray (for something) by looking at present time indeed (what is not there right
now etc) Alas! God, approves (or disapproves) by looking at both the past and
future (karma and what might be really needed in future). The word मध्यस्थ
has many connotations, here it is to say he stays
neutral.

It
is indeed surprising that all creatures starting from worms to human (and not
only human) possess the intelligence to know similar and dissimilar creatures. All
forms of life do possess intelligence! Just an observation and a small
realisation.

।।
Inspired
by many old sayings and specifically a song of kannadasan (which I was
listening a few minutes before). Let there be many languages and let some be
refined. But though unrefined (spoken first) the one spoken by infants delights
the mind of all....☺️

Of
many fields of art some are appreciable easily while some are quite difficult. Those
which are pleasing to the eyes, ear and mouth are usually appreciated by all. Those
that appeal to the intellect are hardly understood and appreciated...esp
literary painting etc. This poem pities the poets whom I can empathise with
easily

।।
The
fish was worried about death as the water in tank dried...The grass (that was
submerged so long) was happy as there was a chance to live again. In one's
threat lies another's opportunity. The dried up madurantakam lake is the
inspiration.

(an infant's strength is its crying) is part of another
subhashita. I am presenting the same with different comparisons..
।।
The
strength of goats is in their head, elephants in their foot, crocodiles in
their mouth (grip) but the strength of an infant lies in its crying, to the
extent it can cry and
accomplishes through the pity generated.
